Sue Murray is the award-winning author of more than twenty books of plays, fiction and non-fiction. Based in Sydney, Australia, Sue’s words reach readers worldwide. She also works as an editor, mentor, workshop leader and teacher.

Her working life began when she joined a collaborative and cutting-edge children’s theatre company. Since then, Sue’s work has always combined her twin passions: the arts and education. She has taught Drama and English in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions and is best-known in Australia as a playwright for young people. For many years, she was on the editorial team of Australia’s beloved children’s literary publication, The School Magazine.

Internationally, Sue’s original fiction for adults and teenagers has brought her recognition and acclaim. She is the recipient of a Language Learners’ Literature Award and has been shortlisted for this honour several times.

Sue also conducts workshops, delivers talks and mentors writers as well as editing print and web-based publications. Publishing is a collaborative process. Excellence takes careful crafting: the right words for the audience and purpose. Sue thrives on the challenge of shaping words that will inspire, inform and empower readers.
